£350 per day PAYE (inside IR35) We are looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a Local Authority team in Atherstone on a 6-month temporary contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, manage a diverse portfolio of work, and ensure high-quality outcomes in the public sector. Key Responsibilities: Manage, schedule, and carry out detailed site, building, and stock condition surveys. Prepare CAD drawings, work schedules, specifications, contract/tender documentation, and quotations to ensure projects are delivered on time and within allocated budgets. Stay up to date with legislation, building regulations, and planning requirements, ensuring all designs and specifications comply with the CDM Regulations. React swiftly to structural diagnostics and building pathology issues, determining remedial works and producing detailed work specifications. Coordinate the preparation of drawings, tender documents, and work programmes for contracts. Monitor the performance and progress of minor and major works programmes, taking corrective action to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery. Skills and Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in building surveying, stock investment, maintenance, and feasibility studies. MRICS qualification (required). Strong understanding of building surveying, maintenance, programming works, preparation of drawings, work schedules, and project management. High-level communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of partnership working. Experience in budget and financial management. Proficient in structural diagnostics, building pathology, and preparing specifications for remedial works. A valid driving license and access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes.
