Local Authority Name is seeking a talented Building Surveyor to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality property services and ensuring our buildings meet the needs of residents and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed inspections and surveys of council-owned properties, identifying necessary repairs, maintenance, and improvements. Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and cost estimates for works required. Manage and oversee construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety legislation, and council policies. Provide expert advice on building-related issues to internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders. Monitor contractor performance and quality, ensuring work is carried out to agreed specifications and standards.

About You:

Qualified Professional: Degree in building surveying or a related field and relevant professional membership (e.g., RICS or CIOB). Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and relevant legislation, including health and safety and building regulations. Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and efficiency. Problem-Solver: Skilled in identifying issues, analyzing options, and implementing effective solutions. Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders. Experience working within a local authority or similar organization is desirable but not essential.
