What will you be doing?

Reporting directly to the Group Buildings Manager, you will assist with providing Building Surveying support for our operational business in respect of its occupation of property with a view to maintaining asset value, compliance with legislation, lease obligations etc.

You will undertake all Building Surveying activities in fulfilling the above including but not limited to:

Dilapidation assessments in advance of potential Landlords claims, negotiation of dilapidation claims, and management of works required to properties at lease expiry

The preparation and agreement of Condition Surveys on new property acquisitions

Procuring new works (e.g. new build, alterations/additions, fit-outs, refurbishment etc) from initial scheme to Final Account, including the management of external consultants and advisors (property and environmental) where appointed for specific schemes

Management of Asbestos legislative requirements in respect of coordination of retained consultant and removal works, and management of CDM requirements

Advice on building conditions, improvement works and budgetary forecasts for new property acquisitions and M&A projects

Preparation and submission of Planning and Building Regulation applications will also be within your remit, including producing drawings and making amendments to plans on the CAD system, and processing and obtaining Landlord's consent when applicable on building and project work, including budgetary and feasibility information on projects.

You will advise on any current relevant compliance requirements or issues and develop an in-depth understanding of (and become involved in) environmental issues as they are related to Group Property. This will include the management of environmental consultants for remedial and associated works. As an expert in your field you will be required to provide Building Surveying support to colleagues across Veolia as and when required.

What are we looking for?

Previous proven experience as a Building Surveyor working for a large organisation is preferable

MRICS / MCIOB qualified

Strong management and organisational skills, with a hands-on approach.

Analytically astute with an attention to detail, along with excellent communication skills.

Driving licence required.
