Building Surveyor Major Works (Part-Time, 3 Days a Week)

We are recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor on a part-time basis for a Local Authority dealing with capital works projects. Ensuring our Council's land and property assets are fit for purpose, legally compliant, and managed efficiently with minimal disruption. We are seeking a Building Surveyor - Major Works to deliver and manage major capital works contracts, planned maintenance, and repair programmes. Key Responsibilities Major Works Delivery:
Plan, coordinate, and execute major capital works projects and maintenance programmes. Ensure compliance with contract specifications, performance standards, and statutory obligations. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards. Surveying Services:
Conduct building surveys, defect analyses, feasibility studies, and cost estimations. Provide professional technical advice to stakeholders. Prepare specifications, drawings, tender documents, and obtain necessary licences and consents. Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience in managing major works contracts and delivering surveying services. Strong understanding of building regulations, statutory compliance, and procurement processes. Excellent project management, inspection, and stakeholder communication skills. Ability to prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and deliver within set timelines. Familiarity with sustainable building practices and energy efficiency measures.
