About the Role

As a Building Surveyor, you’ll beat the forefront of delivering exceptional surveying services.Reporting to an experienced Surveying Services Manager, you’ll workboth independently and collaboratively to tackle a diverse range ofproperty challenges. Expect variety and impact, as 60% of your timewill be spent on-site conducting surveys and inspections.

Your key responsibilities willinclude:

  • Conducting property surveys and diagnosing defects,including damp, mould, structural issues, disrepair, andHHSRS/Fitness for Human Habitation assessments.

  • Managinginvestment works, from project inception to completion, includingprocurement, tendering, and contract administration.

  • SupportingFire Risk Assessments and scoping remedial works, ensuringcompliance with all regulations.

  • Providingexpert advice on structural alterations, party wall matters, andproperty-related disputes.

  • Working withthe Development Team on post-inspections, snagging, and defectmanagement.

  • Supporting junior colleagues and inspectors in theirprofessional development.

This is a pivotal role where yourtechnical expertise, project management skills, and ability to workcollaboratively will be key to our success.

What You’ll Need

We’re looking for a motivatedprofessional with:

  • Qualifications: A Building Surveying, Construction, orEngineering qualification (diploma, HNC, degree) with a minimum of5 years’ post-qualification experience. Professional accreditation(RICS, CIOB, or RIBA) is desirable.

  • Experience:Proven expertise in building surveys, defect diagnosis, andmanaging contractors and budgets. Experience with plannedmaintenance and JCT contracts is a plus.

  • TechnicalKnowledge: Familiarity with housing legislation, CDM regulations,Decent Homes standards, and HHSRS assessments.

  • Skills: Strongcommunication (written and verbal), time management, andproblem-solving skills, with proficiency in MS Office and assetmanagement tools.

  • Flexibility: A methodical approach andadaptability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • A validdriving license and access to a vehicle (insured for business use).

Work Pattern

  • Monday toFriday, 37 hours per week

  • Hours: 9:00AM–5:30 PM (Mon–Thu) and 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (Fri).
