It is responsible for managing a diverse range of properties, from churches to other buildings, with a commitment to stewardship and community development. With over 800 properties across a range of asset classes in the North West, this role is a chance to work with some of the most interesting buildings in the region. Job Description As a Building Surveyor, you will conduct inspections of properties, manage building projects from inception to completion, ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards, and provide financial oversight. You will also work closely with stakeholders, including contractors and consultants, Parish Priests, to ensure effective property management across the Archdiocese.

You will work autonomously, alongside other building surveyors in the team, looking after everything from minor maintenance and repair to large scale projects. You will contribute to the quinquennial survey work and conduct condition surveys and property investigations. Scoping works, report writing, demonstrating value for money as well as survey work will be key parts of the role. The Successful Applicant This role is ideal for someone passionate about buildings and dedicated to supporting the mission and charitable objectives of the Archdiocese. You will play a vital role in supporting parishes and contributing to the effective stewardship of the Archdiocesan estate. You will ideally have an accredited building qualification, such as a degree or HNC in building surveying or construction management or related field. You will need a strong understanding of building pathology and construction. You will have a track record in managing projects from inception to completion, conducting condition surveys, identifying defects, and possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with a range of stakeholders.

What's on Offer This permanent full-time role offers a salary between 33,000 and 44,000, depending on qualifications and experience, with a range of excellent benefits including;

38 days of annual leave including public holidays with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days additional annual leave each year.

We offer agile working to our teams with flexibility of working times and up to 40% of time spent at an alternative working location.

Life insurance cover of 2 x annual salary + 5,000.

Pension: Employees will be enrolled into the People's Pension Scheme with a contribution rate of 3%, and 5% contributed by the employer. The archdiocese will match employee contributions up to 6% of their pensionable salary.
