School Bursar

to join our successful and welcoming school. The right candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high standard of IT skills as well as experience of managing budgets and financial reporting. They must be able to work on their own initiative but also be willing to work collaboratively and contribute fully to the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage competing demands calmly is essential. The post is for 25 hours a week term time, plus 2 inset days and up to 10 days during the school holidays. Attendance at governors’ meetings (a max of 6 times per year in the evenings) is also required. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: Have a proven track record of effective financial management Be responsible for the whole school budget and overall financial management of income and costs Be responsible for identifying and exploring cost savings and procurement opportunities Meet all policy, statutory and reporting obligations Have the ability to gain the confidence of all stakeholders Be able to manage contracts and external service providers Have knowledge of MIS/financial systems and have a high standard of literacy and IT skills Have a good understanding of HR and Health and Safety Be willing to work with Bracknell Forest systems Contribute to the ethos, work and aims of the school Our school has a strong Christian ethos and candidates should be willing to support this.
