The Opportunity Role Objective: Reporting to the Business Analyst Lead - FPMS, the Business Analyst - FPMS is responsible for investigating business systems & processes, identifying options for business process improvement and bridging the needs of the business through technological and process driven change both locally and internationally across the firm. Key Responsibilities: Examine the business needs in terms of present and future requirements Create requirements documents and model the relationship between different requirements, business goals and project objectives Work with Product Owners and scrum teams and external vendors to scope activities (projects, enhancements and fixes) and define success criteria Co-operate with technical specialists and users to understand how far the available systems can meet the business needs Help manage expectations and communicate with stakeholders within and outside of Business Finance regarding change requests Work with external vendors as needed to understand their roadmap and communicate HSF's requirements Manage the analysis tasks through to implementation ensuring that solutions are adequately tested Provide subject matter expertise with in-depth specialist knowledge of business processes and systems Contribute to the knowledge of the team, the department and the firm in order to support the FPMS roadmap Create, maintain and develop relationships with business stakeholders in the practice group and business services communities Continually assess options available to the business, including business processes and review impact of adoption in order to meet business needs Create documentation establishing the requirements, connections and balance between expectations, business goals and project objectives and supporting the delivery of same to a production-ready state Collaborate with both technical specialists and users to ensure a thorough understanding of how available systems operate to meet the needs of the business Qualifications, skills and experience: Working knowledge of; Agile methods of working (essential) SQL (desirable) Legal Practice Management Software - (Aderant and/or Elite 3E preferred but not essential) Experience in working on global projects / cross border initiatives (desirable) Good educational background to degree standard or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' experience of working in a BA capacity although those with less or more experience will be considered provided they can demonstrate the competencies listed below Experience of working in the legal industry, or professional services environment would be an advantage Proven and demonstrable experience of capturing and improving business processes as part of a range of project types Excellent practical understanding of business analysis techniques, methods and tools Ability to understand and communicate business systems at a high, firm-wide solution level, and also at a detailed data object or process-step level Ability to analyse problems and present solutions to management or the business Solid commercial skills, including reviewing and validating proposals, making recommendations Working Pattern:
