As part of the Finance function, the Business Analyst is responsible for defining the project needs of the function and turning these into requirements, whether for technical implementation, business process design, or supporting change management direction. The Business Analyst is responsible for engaging with colleagues across Sage to capture, analyse and document project requirements, often working across multiple projects at any one time. The role is based in a team of Finance Innovation and Process analysts and will support them by helping develop direction for the process of analysis, drive best practice and be an active participant in a community of excellence in analysis. This is a FTC till September 2026, hybrid working, 3 days per week in our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities:

This role focuses on shaping and delivering the strategy for Sage's finance function by leveraging best-in-class analysis techniques. You'll play a key role in ensuring business needs are clearly defined to drive improvements in processes, systems, and operations. Collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are central to this role, as well as supporting colleagues' development and maintaining high standards for analysis across the team. You'll lead requirements-gathering efforts to fully understand business and system needs, aligning them with Sage's commercial objectives. Using a range of analysis and modelling methodologies (such as Agile and Waterfall), you'll produce high-quality deliverables to support the design of process, technology, or people solutions. You'll work closely with stakeholders and teams across the business to drive collaboration and ensure successful outcomes, while proactively identifying risks and recommending solutions. Additionally, you'll champion innovation, lead process improvements, and mentor colleagues to enhance the overall capability of the team. We're seeking someone with deep experience in business analysis and expertise in frameworks like Agile and Waterfall. Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and deliver effective solutions. A background in IT deployments (e.g., ERP, CRM, or data systems) is preferred, along with commercial and operational finance knowledge. Professional qualifications in business analysis, modelling, or process improvement are valuable but not mandatory.
