To strengthen the team, we are looking for an experienced Business Applications Manager who would report into the Head of Technical Delivery to manage the delivery of multiple projects and product development initiatives. Key Responsibilities Drive internal and external delivery teams to achieve prioritised roadmaps and deliver projects within budget. Represent technology in roadmap reviews, ensuring a balance of technology efficiency and addressing tech debt. Build and maintain exceptional relationships with stakeholders, ensuring non-technical business teams clearly understand technical issues and requirements by translating them into accessible and actionable terms. Collaborate with teams and architects to develop innovative technology solutions and manage end-to-end delivery of projects, product enhancements, and technology changes. Provide effective line management to direct reports and contract staff (applications configurators and a small software development team), acting as an independent escalation point. Direct and motivate delivery teams using matrix management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Act as a strategic technology point of contact for engineering, participating in architecture forums and promoting technical standards. Demonstrate a continuous improvement approach to planning, forecasting, estimating, managing uncertainty, metrics, contingency planning, and technology road mapping. Ensure security practices and standards are adopted in development practices, scheduling regular security testing, and ensuring minimal to zero downtime for end users during production deployments. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours Experience : Significant experience in a similar role with proven leadership and team development skills. Technical Architecture : Strong knowledge of technical architecture, with the ability to understand and analyse complex technical landscapes, including application architecture, databases, and software development methodologies. Stakeholder Partnership : Desire to work cooperatively with all stakeholders to meet mutual goals, seeking out and sharing inputs from others. Software Development Lifecycle : Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle with technical proficiency in varied CRM, ERP, and integration technologies. Cloud Deployment : History of deploying to the cloud, preferably with Azure. Project Management : Strong project management skills with experience in waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies. Cross-functional Coordination : Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion. Interpersonal Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across both technical and non-technical areas.
