As the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for generating and closing new business opportunities for CSL’s wide range of IoT solutions. This will involve identifying new routes to market, both direct and indirect, and entering new sectors to broaden the business's market adoption. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual with extensive experience in IoT and a focus on Critical Connectivity to join our rapidly growing, private equity-backed business. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in IoT business development, a deep understanding of critical connectivity solutions within a range of sectors, and demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Duties & Responsibilities: This role will encompass a range of responsibilities including but not limited to: Develop and implement a growth-focused business development strategy in the IoT Critical Connectivity space, aligned with the company’s overall vision and objectives. Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on new business opportunities in target verticals, such as healthcare, utilities, government, facilities management, and transportation. Identify and close high-value deals with new customers & partners to achieve growth targets. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including large enterprise clients, government entities, and technology partners. Maintain a thorough understanding of key partner needs and requirements. Work with the existing team to coach, mentor and help them close their extensive pipeline. Manage, track, and analyse key account metrics including service levels, contract performance, and profitability. Deliver regular performance status, including but not limited to, keeping your pipeline updated and results presentations to internal and external teams. Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales and business development team, fostering a results-oriented culture that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and innovation. Attend industry exhibitions, forums, seminars, trade shows, awards, and events relevant to their business sector. Travel within Europe to meet clients, partners, or attend industry events. Aid with all communications with customers. Assist in the preparation and follow-up process of onboarding new clients. Plan and identify marketing campaigns to effectively engage with the target audience. Key Skills & Qualifications Sought: Flawless communication skills in both spoken and written English. Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Confidence to work autonomously and liaise with a mix of individuals. A keen eye for detail with excellent organisational skills. A strong team player who can collaborate on truly diverse projects. Adept at talking to people from different backgrounds, with experience managing conversations over the phone and improving working relationships with clients. Ability to manage multiple accounts, relationships, and projects simultaneously. Personal drive and ambition with the desire to be at your best at all times. Current UK driving licence.
