Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated

Director of Business Development

to drive new business growth across the events and exhibitions industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities, primarily focusing on sectors such as aerospace & defense, mobility, and travel. With a strong background in sales—ideally in the experience and exhibitions space—the Director will collaborate closely with our sales, creative, and marketing teams to deliver innovative solutions and client-first experiences. Key Responsibilities: Lead new business efforts by identifying and targeting high-potential prospects, particularly within the corporate sector. Drive sales growth by building and managing a robust pipeline, from prospecting to securing preferred supplier status. Present Spiro’s unique value proposition through engaging presentations and pitches, working closely with the creative team to craft compelling proposals. Attend industry events and networking functions to expand Spiro’s market presence and build relationships with key decision-makers. Collaborate with the marketing team to strengthen brand recognition and maintain consistent communication with prospective clients. Work hand-in-hand with the account management team to ensure seamless transition from business development to account management, maximizing client satisfaction and revenue potential. Monitor and manage sales metrics, ensuring that revenue and profitability goals are achieved. Adopt a consultative approach, offering strategic insights to clients to meet their evolving needs and positioning Spiro as a trusted partner. Engage in continuous improvement by identifying new business trends, operational efficiencies, and opportunities for innovation. Contribute to Spiro’s sustainability initiatives by incorporating responsible practices in all areas of work. Required Qualifications: 5 + years of experience in a senior sales or business development role, ideally within the events or exhibitions industry. Proven ability to develop and nurture relationships at all levels within corporate organisations. Experience with international markets and a willingness to travel globally. Strong track record of exceeding sales targets and driving business growth through innovative and strategic approaches. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
