The primary purpose of this role is to drive the creation of and closure of significant revenue generating opportunities in the UK Aerospace and Defence sector. The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing new strategic partnerships with market influencers, finding new ways of expanding client reaches to new potential areas and deepening client engagement to better meet the needs of fast-changing market environments. The BDE’s mission is to develop growth strategies that drive the awareness and penetration of Ansys’ technology in the Aerospace and Defence ecosystems. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Developing growth strategies and plans to drive more strategic & extended market ecosystems of government, academies, certification companies and other market influencers in Aerospace and Defence. Managing and retaining strategic relationships with opinion-leading clients in the market. Increasing client base with 4 perspectives - new client acquisition, new product expansion, new partners, and new displacement. Active coordination of cross-functional teams including Sales, Pre Sales, Marketing, and partners to deliver the excellent customer experience of Ansys. Align Ansys’ mission with market megatrends and clients’ Digital Technology agenda with well-balanced mid/long terms strategies. Have an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition. Negotiate with stakeholders. Identifying and mapping business value/strengths and customer needs. Researching business opportunities and viable income streams for white space expansion. Follow and report on industry trends locally and internationally. Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

An excellent understanding of the Defence domain including Air, Maritime, Space and Land environments. Demonstrated networking capabilities among various communities, e.g. users, and acquisition officials/program leads in Military and Homeland Security fields. Comfortable interacting with senior customers. Education & Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or other related field with 4+ years of experience of demonstrated success in sales or business development OR 8+ years of experience demonstrated success sales or business development. Ability to participate in strategy development and lead attainment of critical objectives. Proven track record of managing business development activities to achieve growth targets. Successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships ranging from senior level executives to technical contacts. Demonstration of capabilities and skills for building trust, accountability and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, team player. Skilled at presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups, and positioning to meet the objectives of the event or meeting. Ability to plan, navigate and negotiate a sophisticated sale process. Strong communication skills are essential. Travel: Up to 50%. Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Cross team & people management skill. Experience working on major UK and International Defence programmes. Previous Military experience would be considered an asset.
