Business Development Executive
will report into the Commercial Director for the FlightGlobal portfolio. The FlightGlobal portfolio includes two websites:
FlightGlobal.com
and
Airline Business ; two magazines:
Flight International
and
Flight Airline Business ; a job board; a series of e-newsletters; one industry awards ceremony; show publishing at eight industry exhibitions; podcasts; webinars; and social media channels. The role is solely focused on selling and account managing our corporate subscriptions across the paid-for website propositions. You will be responsible for lead sourcing, cold calling, sales demos, writing sales proposals, closing business, coordinating account setup, and account management.
On joining the team, you will be given extensive training on the portfolio and market to allow you to hit the ground running. This support will continue throughout your career at FlightGlobal, helping you to develop and progress within the team. As our team and customers are spread across the globe, we work one day in the office and four days remotely; however, this is subject to flexibility for team meetings and company networking days. We show the same flexibility with the hours we sometimes work, often this is a standard 9-5, however on occasion we may need to be online early for calls with Asia or late for calls with the US. The role will include the opportunity for international travel across Europe, the US, Asia, and the Middle East to visit customers and industry events. This travel will on occasion mean traveling on the weekend to arrive in location ahead of the show start dates. If working a weekend, you will be given a day off back in lieu.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Maximise corporate subscription revenues across two digital subscription products. Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and contribute to overall objectives. Focus on developing New Business within a highly competitive market. Build and maintain client and industry relationships. Deliver regular comprehensive territory reports to the Commercial Director. Exceed minimum expectations and activity targets. Develop a sales strategy to effectively manage your territory. Attend relevant industry events. Become a trusted partner to our customers by understanding their requirements. Stay up to date with industry news and events.
Key Skills Required: Ability to identify the decision maker and navigate the gatekeepers. Ability to negotiate at senior level. Excellent sales track record. Strong time management capabilities. Maturity and self-confidence in presenting solutions to clients' business needs. Able to work as part of a global team and deliver on team strategy and goals. A strong understanding of the sales process from start to finish, particularly the benefits of using questioning and value selling. Ability to clearly articulate a value proposition. Strong communication and influencing skills (verbal and written). Excellent presentation skills. A team player, committed to supporting team goals. A willingness to develop and improve performance. Highly self-motivated and conscientious.
