Business Development Manager

Engineering Membership Body/North America (UK hours)

Basic Salary range of £30,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience with realistic on target earnings of £40,000-£45,000

25 days annual leave + bank holidays, pension scheme plus additional package

All staff are based 3 days in office, Knutsford and work 2 days home (with occasional overseas travel to attend engineering conferences and events throughout the year)

Hours of Work - Permanent- full time position, 8:45- 5pm – 3 days in Knutsford, 10:45-7pm – 2 days working from home


Our client a well-respected and reputable engineering membership body is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to work their North American region.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and account management, with a focus on B2B interactions. Experience working within a North American/USA/Canadian region would be advantageous.


You will be able to work non-standard UK hours to co-inside some of the week to take into account the North America – USA, Canada time zones


Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones

Conduct market research and analyse trends to identify opportunities for growth

Manage client accounts, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries promptly

Utilize technical sales knowledge to effectively communicate the benefits of membership

Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns

Conduct outside sales visits to potential clients and represent the organization at industry events.

Exhibit at Trade Shows


The Ideal Candidate:


Proven experience in sales, preferably in a B2B environment

Strong ability to analyse market data and identify key trends

Experience in technical sales or technology sales is a plus

Ability to manage client accounts effectively and build long-term relationships

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Working experience and knowledge of North America, USA, Canada would be advantageous
