The primary objective of this role is to drive sales growth across a wide range of companies and PR agencies in the UK, positioning PR Newswire as their exclusive, preferred, or transactional provider for press release distribution services. Key Responsibilities Build and expand new business sales with both existing and prospective clients via phone and face-to-face meetings. Achieve or exceed revenue targets by meeting established performance criteria. Proactively manage all clients to the highest standards by understanding their corporate PR and marketing communication needs throughout the year. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various markets, generating leads and delivering tailored solutions to maximize revenue. Maintain regular communication with clients and prospects through phone calls, meetings, and presentations. Act as a PR Newswire ambassador, fostering strong client relationships both in person, during presentations, and at industry events. Demonstrate expert knowledge of PR Newswire services and products to clients at all organizational levels. Stay ahead in client negotiations by employing creative and strategic thinking to surpass competitors. Main Areas of Responsibility Handle all clients with the highest standards of service, ensuring accurate documentation of interactions in the CRM system and alignment with best practices. Monitor competitor activity and respond quickly and efficiently. Keep the business informed of any relevant competitor information. Maximize the use of research materials and tools to generate sales opportunities. Proactively follow up on all leads to increase the chances of winning business. Partner with the marketing department and Sales Manager on email marketing campaigns to drive revenue. Work effectively with other departments to support shared goals. Maintain a healthy, up-to-date sales pipeline to ensure consistent progress toward targets. Ensure all written communications are precise, comprehensive, and professionally executed. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences. Awareness of the responsibility of being the first point of contact for clients. Self-motivated and results-driven. Creative and analytical thinker. Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Proven track record in sales with a results-driven approach. Strong presentation and demonstration skills. Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a team. Experience in working towards and achieving set targets both individually and within a team. A commercial approach to daily duties with a focus on revenue generation. Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to identify new revenue streams for other sales teams. Advanced or specialist knowledge of a particular vertical market. Sales experience within the news and media marketplace. Established contacts within relevant departments of FTSE 350 companies and top 150 PR agencies in the UK.
