The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Lancaster City Council and play a key part in driving the success of our conference and event venues. We are looking for a proactive, target-driven individual who will lead the planning and execution of sales and promotional initiatives to secure a wide range of conferences, meetings, and events. The role will see you working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of exceptional service, while also driving the growth of our commercial venues. The successful candidate will have experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets. You will be responsible for developing strategies that maximise revenue, building relationships with key external organisations, and enhancing the visibility of Lancaster City Council’s event facilities. You’ll also be involved in the negotiation of contracts, budget management, and working closely with our marketing and communication teams to boost engagement. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and commercial skills, who is able to manage multiple priorities and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience with budgets and managing key accounts is essential, along with the ability to produce clear, concise reports. This role is permanent. The working hours for this position are 37 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days. The role may require flexibility, including working weekends, evenings, and bank holidays to meet the needs of the business. A full current UK driving licence is essential. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees’ driving licence data. About You You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies. You’ll have a passion for driving business growth and developing strong relationships with stakeholders, while maintaining a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
