R2100872 About KBR and the Project: KBR’s Estates Intelligence team are market-leaders in the public sector FM Assurance market, providing innovative centralised technical platforms and professional services to a diverse central government and specialist departmental estates portfolios to enable them to manage their estates and manage the supply chains that maintain their estates. About the Role: The Estates Intelligence team have recently refreshed their strategic market offering and have rebranded all client-facing services into a well-articulated and compelling proposition to secure new opportunities. To move forward, the team requires a dedicated and experienced Business Development Manager to identify new prospects, lead on the development of framework and tender bids, manage key relationships, and secure new work. The successful candidate will be expected to meet regularly with the team in either Leatherhead or Swindon, but otherwise work across prospective client sites to grow business opportunities. Responsibilities include: Securing new business by identifying opportunities that align to our BD strategy and priority sectors. Conducting market research/intelligence. Initiating client contact and scoping client needs. Collaborating with SMEs to develop proposals. Transitioning successful new business to operations. The post holder will need to be able to convert the refreshed Estates Intelligence strategy into a mature Business Growth approach to maintain current markets and secure new business in wider markets. They will work with wider team members to identify critical stakeholders and develop appropriate engagement methods and leads. They will become SMEs on the Estates Intelligence methodology and technology to best represent KBR externally. Key to the success of this role will be to establish an effective network across clients and partners, and to identify potential growth opportunities for the team, requiring outstanding interpersonal skills. The role is responsible to the Real Estates Director, responsible for: Developing the Business Development approach, identifying markets, stakeholders, frameworks, and initiatives. Generating a comprehensive stakeholder network and maintaining it through close personal connections and initiatives. Supporting the team with wider market and competitor knowledge from across the FM Assurance market. Pre-positioning KBR’s Estates Intelligence team with potential clients to identify and actively track tender opportunities. Converting opportunities into successful wins and growth for the team. Drafting sales and business winning materials as required. Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Essential: Demonstrable experience of self-generating leads and opportunities. Demonstrable experience converting private and public sector opportunities into successful business growth. Relationship management and networking experience with senior stakeholders across the public and private sector. Developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally and collaboratively. Negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and effectively communicate the strengths of the Estates Intelligence approach to key stakeholders. Tenacity and resilience to manage multiple leads and opportunities with enthusiasm. Desirable: Experience with management of public sector and/or private sector estates, including the FM industry and strategic asset management. Comfortable creating compelling MS PowerPoint content and presenting to stakeholders. Bid writing experience, and the ability to draft well-considered bid technical and commercial responses as part of a tender process.
