General Role Description Develop market/customers for the Renewable Energy Systems business with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) applications that enable achievement of Mid-Range Plan (MRP) objectives. Role Accountabilities Market Development Proactively and positively promote and exemplify the Company brand to internal and external contacts and the public. Provide input towards strategies for extending and establishing the Company’s brand into new markets, businesses and industries. Develop relationships within a network of internal, TMEIC Europe, TMEIC Japan & OSO contacts to coordinate and influence securing the resources needed for implementing the RES’s strategies. Develop relationships with a network of purchase influencers within current and potential RES to position the company to identify new opportunities. Build and sustain productive relationships with company and parent company contacts to ensure timely and accurate communication of issues, concerns, and requests for assistance are acknowledged and subsequently addressed by Company and parent company. Identify and explore new markets of potential that might be of interest to the RES business. Project Development Development candidate of planned BESS project sites, negotiations with landowners, and following up till signing of lease agreements. Follow-up from application to approval of grid connection rights with Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and planning permissions with local authority. Communication with project rights brokers, validation of project rights and negotiation of M&A of Ready to Build (RtB) project’s right. Developing and communicating with developers holding project rights and negotiating M&A of RtB project’s right. Market Analysis Determine key wants and needs of the existing RES markets, market segments and monitor industry and macro-economic trends to assess how these factors might change over time. Develop business cases for the RES’s entry and participation in new markets, businesses, and industries in collaboration with TMEIC personnel. Marketing Activities Implement strategies to increase internal and external awareness and understanding of the BU’s objectives and achievements via effective public relations and advertising in global and local media programs. Provide content to the Global Marketing team for the creation and execution of effective, high quality trade show activities in support of the strategic business plan. TMEU RES assessments Assess the BU’s capabilities, products, services, and technologies to determine its position relative to the competitors in their respective markets. Plan and execute projects to aid in improving and growing the BU’s business to meet goals set by TMEIC senior management. Report results as scheduled and requested to Company and parent company management, including, but not limited to, research, analysis, evaluation, and recommendations. General Employee Accountabilities Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager. Give manager best advice. Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent via education and/or work experience. Minimum 3 years in a direct client facing position in any combination of the renewable energy business field. Demonstrated success in business development in a complex business environment with commercial activities in the renewable energy business field. Proven ability to work across functional teams. Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts. Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Demonstrated success in vendor pre-qualifications and other typical procurement requirements for the industry segments. Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility. Proficiency in Word, Excel, a CRM tool, and an ERP business system. Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, sometimes with limited notice. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of science in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering or related engineering discipline. 3 – 5 years of experience in business development or sales experience in the renewable energy business field. Experience with power electronics or other capital equipment, product marketing and brand management. Understanding of energy economics and regulatory environment. Strong experience in developing new markets, partnership development or strategic alliances.
