Team About the role Inclusive economic growth is a key priority for Bury Council. Working within the Business Growth and Infrastructure directorate you will be at the centre of building relationships to ensure the business community of the borough can access funded support and benefit from planned regeneration activity. We are looking for someone who can make an immediate impact within the team. This post offers the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and experience to progress and develop an exciting and rewarding career in economic development and business engagement. You will work with colleagues across connected areas including skills, employment, health and wellbeing, and policy development to support businesses across the borough and inward investors. You will work across a range of partnerships: Regional and city-region groups Employment and skills groups National and regional business support Bury Business Leadership Group Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Local business networks The work is varied, fast paced and constantly evolving. So, if you like to connect organisations together for the benefit of communities, place and businesses this could be the role for you. You will need good information technology skills, the ability to undertake research and analysis and produce written reports. You will need to be educated to degree level or have work experience to a similar standard. You will also need to be confident supporting and communicating with business leaders at all levels. Attendance at early morning and evening meetings will be required, so you'll need to be flexible and committed to working outside normal office hours. Hours of work are 37 per week and an extended flexi-time scheme is in operation. This is a hybrid post with an agreed mix of home and office working arrangements. The role also involves visits to businesses across the borough.
