This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31/01/2026. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pembrokeshire Community Directorate for a Business Services Officer. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the Business Services Team in providing a comprehensive business administration function to the Senior Management Team. An ability to prioritise work and excellent organisational skills are essential for this role and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate initiative in planning their own workload in a way that supports the work of the team, whilst also being flexible and adaptable in dealing with the unexpected. The role is an important one, responsible for the day-to-day management of our community premises, maintaining the health, safety and security of staff and visitors, and ensuring the smooth running of the sites. You will need to be a good communicator, developing effective relationships with a wide range of staff, services and stakeholders. You will be a key member of the Business Services Team, acting as a key point of contact for operational and business-related issues within the directorate, linking closely with teams, services and external organisations. Operationally responsible for the day-to-day management of our community premises, you will also line manage our reception and admin staff based on these sites, developing and maintaining rosters to ensure coverage of the reception areas in South Pembs Hospital, Tenby Cottage Hospital and Tenby Walk-In Centre, as well as Community Health Centres. As part of the central business function provided by the team, you will support senior managers with the maintenance of equipment, asset and risk registers for the Directorate. The Business Services Officer also supports the monitoring and contract management of all external SLAs held by the County Team, acting as the point of contact for SLA queries, and for monitoring returns from contract holders, as well as organisation and administration of quarterly SLA management meetings. The successful post holder will need to be able to travel to all sites within the Health Board if required, particularly the community premises within the Pembrokeshire County Directorate. Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services to almost 400,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. The Health Board is committed to supporting its staff to fully embrace the need for bilingualism thereby enhancing patient and service user experiences. In our commitment to increase the number of staff who are able to communicate in Welsh with patients and professionals, we welcome applications from Welsh speakers. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. If you do not meet the Welsh Language requirements specified, the Health Board offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal desirable requirements during the course of your employment with us. Interviews will be held on 24/01/2025.
