As well as ongoing on-the-job training relating to the administration duties of the business, you will also gain in-depth knowledge about the electrical industry. The experienced team at Datel will ensure you have all the knowledge needed to become a valued member of the team.

Hours: Working days to be confirmed (8.00am - 4.00pm). 37 hours 30 minutes a week.

Duration: 1 year 9 months

Work As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing data entry, and maintaining in-house CRM systems.

Provide excellent customer service by answering phones, processing inquiries, and directing calls appropriately.

Learn the inner workings of the electrical industry in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Gain valuable experience in marketing, social media, and other business support functions (as you progress in the apprenticeship).

Training An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Course contents

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.

Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports, and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and presents solutions to management.

Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way.

Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.

Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing, or on digital platforms.

Completes tasks to a high standard. Demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks and applies themselves to continuously improve their work.

Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines.

Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.

Your training plan

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.

Off-the-job training to be provided by South Devon College (one day per week).

Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.

Requirements GCSE or equivalent in:

IT (grade 4)

Maths (grade 4)
