We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Business Tax team as an assistant manager in Tunbridge Wells, responsible for tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients. The primary responsibility will be to manage a portfolio of clients and provide assistance primarily to Managers and Senior Managers in supporting the delivery of client work. You will also be involved in special assignments and advisory projects on an ad hoc basis. As a Business Tax Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include: Undertake “ad-hoc” consultancy work Drive the delivery of advisory and compliance services on a day-to-day basis Manage client accounts and relationships Provide exceptional client service and maintain regular contact with the client team Keep up to date technically Budgeting and monitoring compliance fees Liaison with senior team members, including Partners and Directors where required On-the-job training/mentoring for junior staff on a one-to-one basis, including technical and procedural matters Address staff questions Ensure procedures are followed in accordance with institute and HMRC guidance Meet department KPIs around billing and recovery targets Participate in internal meetings and seminars Encourage cross-referrals by being aware of other parts of the firm Support marketing and business development activities as required Qualifications Key Skills and Experience Relevant tax experience gained within the profession or industry Technically capable tax adviser who can assist in complex client work Exemplary organisational and communication skills Keen to learn and expand technical knowledge Strong IT skills including practical knowledge of Microsoft Office packages; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Starting to gain staff management/mentoring/supervisory experience Ability to motivate staff to ensure best performance Demonstrable ability to organise self and others to work on multiple assignments Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, directors, staff, and other professionals Ability to proactively monitor costs against budget for individual clients Demonstrable experience of supervising others and delegating work Experience managing a small client portfolio Additional Information As a colleague here at Evelyn Partners, you will have access to benefits that include: Private medical insurance Life assurance Pension contribution Generous holiday package Option to purchase additional holiday Shared parental leave We value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients.
