Through the application of industrial expertise, our Industrial Advisory team acts as both a standalone business and supports AECOM projects in the UK&I region and also globally: Our process improvement practitioners through the application of LEAN and Six Sigma have further unlocked new thinking to make efficiencies for our clients in Defence, Aviation, Global Retail, Automotive and Construction. Our manufacturing knowledge has translated automotive practices and thinking into the construction and transportation industries. Our factory gained automation and control experience brings new perspectives to transport infrastructure projects such as the rail and aviation industries. We are currently recruiting for an experienced professional reporting to an Industrial Advisory Principal Director supporting our Process Optimisation offering. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical and commercial success of projects delivered. Objective of the role: To support development of a top performing Process Optimisation capability within the Project, Programme and Design Management Discipline of B+P, that wins and delivers high value consultancy projects across a broad range of industries and to integrate Lean thinking across all the work that we deliver. Job Duties: Support development of the value propositions for Lean and other process optimisation capabilities applied into traditional manufacturing environments but most significantly providing Manufacturing/Mechanical or digital inputs to propositions. Support the development of innovative thought leadership that sets AECOM apart from its competitors. Support the development of best practice methods and standards for process optimisation to apply throughout the Project, Programme and Design Management Discipline of B+P and into the wider AECOM organisation. Develop a network throughout AECOM to adopt Lean into delivery of their projects and with their clients. Develop client relationships through project delivery and in support of business development. Support the development of solutions to business/client challenges developed from a foundation of understanding or analysis of business practices and goals. Collaborate with the senior leadership of the Project, Programme and Design Management Discipline of B+P to formulate strategy and develop exciting offerings that maximise the potential of the wider AECOM team. Ensure projects delivered under your management are executed to quality, cost and time. Requirements: A background working as part of an in house manufacturing/engineering, project, or process improvement team; or as part of a machine/system integrator within Defence, Aviation, or other highly regulated sectors. You will be an experienced, approachable leader, demonstrating strong leadership skills. You will have demonstrable experience in relevant manufacturing/construction/logistics industries. You will have some experience or be willing to develop consulting capacity and developing stakeholder relationships. You will have some understanding of Continuous Improvement methods/processes and the application of Lean principles and Six Sigma to projects across different industries. You will have some experience in leading improvement/change projects. You will have strong coaching, training and influencing skills. You will demonstrate initiative and a desire for dealing with complex problems. You will be able to listen to clients, understand and form compelling arguments for our services. You will be flexible and willing to work away from the office to meet our client or business demands. We envisage that the role will be Hybrid working linked to an AECOM office in either our Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol, Swindon or Southampton offices, however there will be a need for regular travel to other locations, mainly across the UK, but also Europe and further afield as required. Qualifications: Ideally you will be qualified to HND level or above, or will have a minimum of five years’ experience working within the industry and be capable to demonstrate this knowledge.
