Location: Newcastle, NE12 8BU
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 PA | Hybrid Working: 2 days per week WFH
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (flexible hours), Monday-Friday, early finish on Fridays

Role Overview
As an integral part of our procurement team, you will work closely with our Purchasing Manager to implement our procurement strategy, manage vendor relationships, and drive cost savings initiatives. This role offers growth opportunities within our procurement team, with the potential for progression into more strategic roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews.
  • Conduct market research and RFx processes to identify new suppliers and make informed recommendations.
  • Drive cost analysis and reporting on savings, using data to prioritize initiatives and make impactful decisions.
  • Work on strategic projects with the Purchasing Manager to enhance procurement processes and policy compliance.
  • Key performance metrics include cost savings achieved, project completion within set timelines, and other compliance and operational metrics.

About You

  • 1-2 years experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis, PivotTables) and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle ERP and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable presenting and negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with a knack for building strong relationships and the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
