EXPERIENCED BUYER/PROCUREMENT

- £35,000 TO £40,000 (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE) PERMANENT - MONDAY TO FRIDAY - 8AM TO 5PM - BASED WATTON AREA

Our client is a family-owned business, situated in the heart of Norfolk.

About You

The Role

Due to continued growth within our industry, they are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join their procurement department.

Based at our Norfolk depot, you will be reporting directly to the Procurement Manager and working closely with the senior management team, as well as communicating with all other department supervisors as and when required.

Your Main Responsibilities

Managing the procurement of set allocated supplier stock. Signing off price changes and finalising pricing for key accounts. Managing a portfolio of products effectively, therefore reducing the risk of overstock and clearance items. Negotiating joint business plans with customers and suppliers, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions to ensure joint targets are achieved. Reducing unnecessary stock expenses by analysing data and providing feedback to senior management outlining possible corrective actions.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum 5 years of product and buying experience. Previous experience in feeding back on commercial objectives and KPIs to senior peers. Strong category management, product selection, and range building experience with demonstrable, significant results. Comprehensive retail, warehouse, or distribution knowledge. Able to work under pressure, competitive and results-driven. Prior independent negotiation experience and has historically negotiated supplier contracts in excess of £250k. Medium/high Excel skills. Strong and professional in all communication channels.
