Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a proficient C++ Software Engineer to join their team in Filton, Bristol. This role is a 6-month contract position, requiring 100% onsite presence, contributing to vital projects in mission planning and launcher sub-systems.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in the design, development, and testing activities for a mission planning application in collaboration with the project team. Undertake a full range of engineering activities following relevant company processes and standards. Take ownership of specific features and deliverables within the project. Engage in system integration activities on a virtual test environment and potentially representative hardware. Contribute to the entire development lifecycle from architectural specification to testing and verification. Support the production of comprehensive project documentation.
Job Requirements: Extensive experience in design, development, and verification of complex software products. Proficiency in communicating technical issues with engineers and stakeholders across different disciplines. Experience working as part of a collaborative Agile team. Strong understanding of software development practices and processes. Familiarity with CI/CD/DevOps toolsets such as Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins. Mandatory proficiency in C++; knowledge of Core is desirable. Ability to achieve the appropriate security clearance relevant to the role; all projects are UK eyes only.
