My client are a precision manufacturing business based North Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components.
The CAD Engineer will be responsible for producing highly accurate technical documentation while ensuring their day to day activities are on track in line with departmental commitments. Maintaining and developing technical drawings and bills of materials, using Solidworks. Working within the Engineering function the CAD Engineer will promote excellence and quality throughout the Company, applying sound Engineering judgement and practices at all times.

Job Description
Producing product designs and manufacturing drawings in Solidworks. Represent Engineering in Obeya meetings when required. Taking full responsibility for any Engineering commitments that have been agreed. Ensure process and procedures are carried out across the whole team through internal audits. Producing highly detailed and manufacturing drawings in Solidworks, whilst maintaining MRP systems and PDM, ensuring high levels of accuracy and data. Introducing and maintaining Engineering processes for technical drawings and validation. Working to project plans, autonomously or with the appropriate project lead. Ensuring continued communication and good relationships with external and internal customers. Liaise with and provide technical support to applications and production. Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Able to produce highly accurate working 2D drawings using 3D modelling and in line with design and manufacturing requirements Excellent understanding of DFM, DFA Sound knowledge of Geometrical, Dimensioning and Tolerancing High level of technical drawing abilities in line with BS8888
