CAD Engineer required for my client who work within the automotive industry, based in Peterborough. The company are looking for an engineer who can deliver cutting-edge designs and ground-breaking solutions to their project line. The successful CAD engineer will be in an engineering connection within departments at the company and have an extensive CAD background. CAD Engineer Job Overview Oversee the complete design lifecycle, from idea through to prototyping and ensure adherence to timelines and budget constraints. A hands-on approach, prototyping, testing, and iterating in a physical form to refine and improve designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, and operations to integrate design concepts seamlessly. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' products. Instil a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new materials, technologies, and design methods. Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines to ensure the highest level of quality and consistency across all projects. Conduct regular design reviews to stay ahead of the trend and provide constructive feedback to ensure the team's growth and development. Effectively communicate design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences. CAD Engineer Job Requirements Degree in Automotive Design, Automotive Engineering or a related field. Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD design software, ideally Solidworks. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful design projects. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials. Good level of written and verbal communication. Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough. CAD Engineer Salary & Benefits Salary - 33,000 to 36,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications. Full time position - Monday to Friday. Company pension scheme. 28 days holiday (including bank holidays). Bonus incentives. Professional development opportunities.
