CAD Layout Designer

to join their team in Rochester, Kent. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-quality ventilation system designs and see your work brought to life on-site.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll use SolidWorks to create detailed manufacturing drawings for CNC punching, brake press, and welding assembly processes. Your work will involve ensuring accuracy in sheet metal component designs, optimizing material usage, and collaborating with R&D on continuous improvement projects. You’ll also gain valuable exposure to the manufacturing and production processes on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for CNC and assembly processes. Ensure accuracy in sheet metal designs and optimize material usage. Collaborate with R&D teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Work closely with the on-site manufacturing team to see designs through to production.

What We're Looking For:

Experience using SolidWorks and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Interest in manufacturing processes, with experience in sheet metal fabrication being a bonus. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Experience in commercial kitchen ventilation systems is desirable but not essential.

What's On Offer:

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Benefits: Pension scheme, life assurance, income protection insurance, 25 days holiday, and access to employee support services. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (start time between 7:30 - 8:00am).
