The Bournemouth and Christchurch CAMHS team are looking for a Family Practitioner to join their supportive multi-disciplinary team. As a Family Practitioner you will provide practical help and support and guidance to children, young people and their families who are receiving treatment in CAMHS. You will assist in the identification of those families who would benefit from receiving support and promote the importance and relevance of the parenting care pathway to families whose child/children display emotionally disrupted behaviours where parenting support would be the key intervention, resulting in promoting their recovery in their community environment. Experience of working in a clinical role in mental health is essential and you will need to have experience of working therapeutically with children and young people with mental health presentations and their families. The Family Practitioner role is a part time 30 hours, permanent post. The clinic is currently open from 9-5 Monday to Friday. You must hold a full current UK Driving Licence and discussions around working hours and days can be negotiated. Main duties of the job

To provide practical help and support where there is evidence of extreme emotionally disrupted behaviours which warrant specific evidence-based parenting programmes. To encourage parents to recognise their skills and strength as a highly effective strategy in supporting their child/children. Ensure the highest standards of service are provided; to ensure that services to young people and their carers are delivered and developed accordingly to Trust, Social and Healthcare departmental policies. Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively. Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business. A level of fitness and ability to participate and complete Breakaway training and Manual Handling (practice and theory). Disclosure and Barring Service Check
