Crisis and Home Treatment - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

Based at Parkview Clinic.

There are also opportunities for Band 5 development roles.

Responsibilities:

Conduct holistic mental health assessments, signposting, and liaison. Provide specialist clinical input to children and young people with physical health and co-morbid mental health issues (e.g., eating disorders). Work with parents, schools, and educate colleagues. Perform positive risk assessment and management with robust care plans. Provide brief solution-focused interventions to support children, young people, and their families. Undertake urgent assessments of individuals with mental health problems in acute crisis. Provide intensive community-based treatment/support services as an alternative to inpatient admission. Collaborate with partner inpatient agencies to support timely discharge from hospital back to the community. Be part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and attend regular clinical caseload reviews. Keep clear and concise records on young people under care. Act as a point of contact for young people and families during crises. Employ effective de-escalation skills and ensure appropriate referrals or signposting. Order and monitor the efficacy of prescribed medications and provide feedback to the MDT.

Work Schedule: The service is available 365 days a year. Please note that this role is on a shift basis (long days) and weekends, but does not include night working.
