CAMHS have an exciting opportunity opening for the role of a Specialist Occupational Therapist working within their Eating Disorders Team. You will be part of a wider multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality interventions to children, young people, and their families presenting with a range of mental health difficulties. As well as dedicated time for working in our Eating Disorder service, there will be additional time for core Specialist CAMHS work. The Eating Disorders Team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support. Main duties of the job

As a dedicated worker in the eating disorders team, you will be working alongside the lead Consultant Psychiatrist, nurses, therapists, and support workers to deliver bespoke care packages according to need. This will include a combination of clinic work and home visiting, as well as building strong relationships with local tier 4 providers to ensure consistency of care for those young people requiring periods of hospital admission. You will work alongside young people and their families to deliver outstanding care, helping to promote independence and dignity, and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care. You will be expected to help practically, supervising mealtimes in a variety of environments, liaising with schools/colleges and families, offering psychoeducation around food, eating disorders, and managing emotions. In addition, you will be expected to offer supervision to more junior members of the team in their delivery of prescribed care plans. You will be part of resource development and training and education to other professionals and supporting all members of the MDT team. About us

Qualifications

Degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc) Occupational Therapy Registration with HCPC Evidence of ongoing CPD Experience

Developed and proven experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health or adult mental health Understanding and experience of therapy outcome measures Comprehensive knowledge and experience of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions relevant to the client group and presenting disorder Working experience of risk assessment and management within a mental health setting Experience of professional leadership and line management Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year based on full-time hours
