CAMHS Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Full Time - 37.5 Hours Per Week We are excited to advertise a new opportunity within Wakefield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner. The role is offering an in-reach service into The Croft, a 2-bedded therapeutic children's residential home. Our primary aim is to provide a safe, trauma-informed and therapeutic environment from which young people in our care can develop both physically and psychologically, work on their relationship skills, recover from developmental traumas, and enjoy a level of settlement that might otherwise have been denied to them. You will be offering risk assessment and care planning to support young people who reside in The Croft, as well as supporting the staff members based there. You will also be responsible for conducting assessments to determine the appropriateness of The Croft as a suitable residential home. You would be part of the Enhanced Outreach Team (EOT), which primarily works with Looked After Children. The Croft is based in the Ackworth area of Wakefield, and the role requires regular travel to this area. Main duties of the job Attend team meetings and development sessions. Offer clinical supervision to colleagues. Provide in-reach support to The Croft and assist the young people and staff. Offer therapeutic intervention to young people and their network. Conduct risk assessments and create individualized care plans. Complete assessments to determine appropriateness for The Croft. Ability to manage own caseload and to be a self-reliant and autonomous practitioner. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. Customer service orientation. Substantial post-qualification experience, some of which must be working with children, young people, and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting. Membership of a professional body. Desirable Postgraduate qualification in mental health (e.g., CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling). Masters Level qualification.
