Full time
If you are an experienced NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse , we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our CAMHS family at our inpatient mental health services for children and young people in Rochford, Essex.

We are expanding our nursing team!

Poplar Adolescent Unit is a general acute ward with 14 beds supporting young people aged 13-18 with a variety of mental health issues.

Poplar Adolescent unit is an innovative service with an MDT passionate in developing nurses. We can provide further CAMHS training via our CAMHS preceptorship programme and opportunities for further development in our award-winning DBT programme, ASD and more.

We are unfortunately unable to accept any further nurses requiring preceptorship at this time.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as a member of our multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents who access our services.

This will involve key working young people and supporting them on their recovery journey. You will work collaboratively with the young people to develop care plans, risk assessments and positive behaviour support plans, contributing to expanding the resources young people and their family need to support care in the community.

You may be required to support the therapies team with our therapeutic timetable, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your psychological skills.

Additionally, you will be required to advocate for your patients in meetings both internally and externally to ensure they are receiving evidence-based, valued care.

We care for young people with a variety of mental health issues and the post would best suit someone who is able to work as part of a team, caring for young people experiencing, at times, a significant amount of distress.
