An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and pro-active nurse to join our growing cancer research team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside a dedicated cancer research team to deliver a growing portfolio of oncology and haematology clinical trials. The post holder will be a clinically based practitioner who will take a supportive role in strengthening the nursing contribution to patients and service users within the speciality across the organisation.

In partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), the post holder will assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating a seamless specialist service.

Using specialist nursing skills, the post holder will contribute to the management of a caseload of patients recruited to both observational and interventional research studies and provide continued care and support throughout the study.

The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of innovative practice, standards of care, and strategies to ensure practice development and education for other professionals caring for patients within this speciality.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work autonomously to coordinate the patient pathway to ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of trial participants are protected. They will ensure that the requirements of the trial protocol are met at all times according to ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. They will need to have excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills. Nurses who have experience in haematology or oncology are encouraged to apply. Research experience is not essential but desirable as full training will be provided.

Come and join a Trust rated Outstanding by the CQC. South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as outstanding following our latest inspection by the CQC and we are recruiting new staff to come and help us improve even further. In addition, our staff survey results have placed us 4th in the country for the recommended place to work.

We provide services across Warwickshire and beyond, ranging from Hospitals in Warwick, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Royal Leamington Spa, and Shipston-on-Stour to Community Services across the county. We are a progressive, expanding organisation with great ambition around improving quality, integrating pathways, and delivering high levels of productivity.

Our values can be summed up in one sentence: We are 'Trusted to provide safe, inclusive, effective, and compassionate care'. Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked to think about how you demonstrate these values and how they impact your work. It doesn't matter what role you do, whether it is patient-facing or not; we are all working in the same way with our values at the core.
