What you’d be doing in this role

Building, optimizing, and scaling intuitive, performant frontend applications for cutting-edge Generative AI tools that empower millions of Canva users.

Collaborating with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to craft user experiences that make complex AI-powered tools simple and delightful to use.

Developing frameworks and reusable components to accelerate AI product development across Canva.

Working closely with the AI Media team to experiment and iterate rapidly on new ideas to unlock creative possibilities for our users.

Maintaining a strong focus on performance, reliability, and accessibility to ensure seamless design experiences for every user.

You're probably a match if

You’re an experienced frontend engineer with 5+ years of commercial experience building rich, interactive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).

You have a passion for AI and are excited by the potential of Generative AI to contribute to tools that push the boundaries of creativity.

You love a great user experience, caring deeply about creating interfaces that are functional, delightful, and easy to use.

You’re a collaborator at heart, thriving in cross-functional teams and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You’re curious and innovative, enjoying exploring new technologies and experimenting with ideas to solve challenging problems.

The AI Media team sits within Canva’s Generative AI Supergroup, focusing on redefining how users interact with media through the power of AI. Our mission is to create tools that empower anyone, anywhere, to bring their creative visions to life effortlessly.
