Join the Close Brothers the Credit team where you will provide Capital and Impairment analysis and reporting to the Premium Finance and Motor Finance businesses. The role focuses on the Capital and Impairment discipline for Retail including responsibility for model risk office, forecasting, stress testing and downturn planning. The successful candidate will support on analysis of credit trends, emerging risks and thematic reviews across the full credit lifecycle. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with existing capital and impairment reviews and analysis (A-IRB & IFRS9) Reviewing IFRS9 model outputs; understanding drivers of key movements and ensuring it reflects the risk in the portfolio. Support the development and embedding of A-IRB across Retail Support Bad Debt and Capital analysis for regulatory and local stress scenarios Support annual Bad Debt budget setting and regular reforecasting cycles, leveraging analytics to support proposed targets. Monitor bad debt against budget and forecasts, analysing trends and deviations. Maintain and improve Credit Risk reporting models and databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with bank guidelines. Continued evolution of high-quality credit risk related MI, insight, and analytics, aligning with emerging trends or changes in portfolio and strategy. Monitor loan book performance against credit appetite and produce quality monthly reporting to Risk and Executive committees including monitoring of credit appetite and early warning indicators supported by robust analysis and commentary. WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE: Experience or knowledge of IRB and / or IFRS9 (reporting or stress testing) Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail Strong coding skills (with a working knowledge of SQL) and experience using tools such as Alteryx, SAS or equivalent. Strong understanding of credit risk across the lifecycle. Background in retail finance or a similar secured asset lending environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with and communicate complex information to senior management and non-credit colleagues. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to support, coach and encourage other team members. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Proven experience in a Credit Risk role within a Financial Services environment. IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE: Previous credit risk experience including exposure to Basel, IRB & IFRS9 and loss forecasting Expertise in capital and impairment modelling. Experience of credit risk PD, EAD & LGD models. Understanding and / or experience of credit scorecards in a retail or commercial environment Knowledge of credit bureau reporting requirements and bureau data.
