In this role, you will support the Senior Net-Zero and Sustainability Manager in delivering projects for NHS organisations focused on reducing their emissions, while advancing our internal net-zero strategy at NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS). Your responsibilities will include working with internal data systems to ensure they are fit for purpose, providing meaningful insights to our clients regarding their carbon emissions. Additionally, you will play a key role in communicating and sharing sustainability initiatives across NHS SBS, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment with our net-zero targets. This position is predominantly home-based, but there is an expectation to attend our Salford or London office once a month and where business needs are required. Whether working from our modern, collaborative offices or at home, we give employees the flexibility to help them achieve a healthier work-life balance. What you will be doing:

Identify and champion innovative technologies, processes, and practices to drive sustainability and support the transition to a net-zero carbon footprint. Collect and manipulate data for the carbon mapping system, verifying this and sharing the output with the client. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and change, encouraging creativity and agility in addressing environmental challenges. Analyse complex data and information related to environmental performance, carbon emissions, and sustainability metrics to inform decision-making and strategy development. Delivery of the scope 3.1 carbon mapping product at NHS SBS, focusing on project management and keeping to the timescales and budget. What you will bring:

Keeping abreast of relevant environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. Contribution to the development of internal policies, guidelines, and procedures to support environmental management and sustainability objectives. Proficiency in data analysis and advanced Excel techniques, PowerBI, and Alteryx. Knowledge of carbon accounting (scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions) - (Essential). Working knowledge and enthusiasm around sustainability and social value. (Essential). Ideally an environmental or data science qualification (degree or equivalent).
