To work as a team member within cardiac clinical physiology services and without supervision to undertake basic cardiac clinical physiology procedures e.g. recording electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter Monitors, and Blood Pressure applications. To assist the cardiac clinical physiologists in more complex cardiac physiology procedures e.g. implantable cardiac monitors, cardiac exercise tolerance testing, and tilt table testing. To support departmental administration as required, liaising with other professionals to ensure that patients receive in a timely manner cardiac physiology procedures as required. To work to the standards set by the Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) and British Cardiac Society (BCS). Main duties of the job

Perform diagnostic quality 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) and Ambulatory ECGs in wards/departments throughout the organisation to obtain physiological data from patients (adults, children, and neonates). Without supervision, set up, apply, and instruct in the use of Ambulatory blood pressure (BP) and longer-term patient activated monitors on inpatients and outpatients. Without supervision, set up, apply, and instruct the use of Holter Monitors (24hr, 48hr, 72hr), and 14-day tapes. Assist Cardiac Physiologists during procedures with a high risk of patient adverse events e.g. Exercise Tolerance Tests and Tilt Table Tests. Recognise signs and symptoms of life-threatening and urgent cardiac abnormalities and take steps to support patients as necessary. To undertake ECG interpretation after sufficient training. To undertake Ambulatory ECG analysis with supervision after sufficient training. To assist the Cardiac Physiologists in Implantable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) implants in the Cardiac Catheter Lab. Qualifications

Maths and English Grade C and above GCSE Equivalent Experience

Extensive experience within a Cardiology department Knowledge of ETT and Tape analysis Excellent ECG interpretation and reporting skills Experience with HUTT Experience with 6MWT Experience with CPET Skills & Knowledge

Skill to work with staff of all levels throughout the trust Reliable and flexible to the needs of the service 7 days working Disclosure and Barring Service Check
