Role Overview:
As an Echocardiographer with SAH Diagnostics, you’ll perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) in accordance with British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards, utilizing state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. Your role will support the reduction of patient waiting times and deliver high-quality, timely echocardiographic assessments for a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct TTEs following BSE minimum dataset recommendations, utilizing 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and tissue Doppler imaging across parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal windows.
- Document patient demographics and scan results, ensuring accuracy in measurements and report summaries.
- Identify and document abnormalities, alerting clinicians as needed for urgent findings such as severe valvular disease, cardiac compromise, or pericardial effusion.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on patient scans, adhering to standard templates and entering appropriate clinical recommendations.
- Maintain equipment standards by operating GE Vivid ultrasound systems and ensuring clear patient identifiers on all imaging.
- Maintain BSE accreditation, complete re-accreditation requirements, and engage in continual professional development in echocardiography.
Qualifications:
- BSE accreditation in echocardiography or working towards BSE accreditation under supervised training,
- Enhanced DBS certification is required.
- Proven experience in performing adult TTEs, with a high level of proficiency in echocardiographic imaging and Doppler measurements.
- Strong knowledge of echocardiography reporting systems, ideally with experience using McKesson.
- Ability to adhere to clinical protocols and communicate effectively with referring clinicians for both routine and urgent cases.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring patient comfort and understanding throughout each procedure.
