opportunity for a Family Group Conference (FGC) Coordinator

based in the Canterbury region

We're offering a competitive salary for this position starting from

$84,491 to $98,674 , depending on experience. Mō te tūnga | About the role In this role you will be expected to operate in a supportive manner to help achieve our goals and demonstrate our values. This role will see you working as an integrated part of the communities within the Christchurch Metro areas facilitating care and protection related FGC's. You will work closely with tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau in a relational, inclusive, and restorative way, supporting the creation of plans to meet identified needs through decision-making focused on the best interests of tamariki rangatahi and their whanau. This is a complex and rewarding role, where strong facilitation and mediation skills are a must, ensuring all decisions are in the best interest for the tamariki/rangatahi's safety and protection. To be considered for this role, you will need to be relational, dynamic, agile, and have well-developed communication skills. Having the ability to influence and motivate transformative change within a complex environment will be key to your success. Resilience, planning skills, and self-motivation will be advantageous. Key requirements of the role include: Previous experience in social services Strong community networks with an ability to connect and build strong trusting relationships with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau and community. Well-developed facilitation skills with the ability to relate, understand, plan, act with others, and reflect, to evidence the application of relevant FGC standards and practices throughout the process. Experience in mediation and negotiation and the ability to understand complex dynamics Ability to self-direct and manage your own workload with excellent organisational skills. Well-developed communication skills as you will be engaging with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures High level of interpersonal skill set and ability to be relational with whanau and professionals Champion the principles of the Oranga Tamariki Cultural Practice Framework and have a good understanding of The Oranga Tamariki Act Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices, particularly knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture Uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and demonstrate this in your practice A valid and clean New Zealand driver's licence We also offer training and professional development so that you can thrive and grow.
