Care Assistant – 40 hours hours per week, Colinton, Edinburgh EH14
Job ref: LCSJUNE04 This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic care assistant to join an established small team supporting a lovely 14 year old boy in Edinburgh. The start date is immediately or after 17th August 2024. The hourly rate
is £15 per hour gross . The hours will be approximately 40 hours per
week
worked in a shift pattern across 7 days : 6.30am to 9.30am and 3.15pm to 9.15pm school days
and 7am to 9.15pm non school days including weekends and school holidays (in line with City of Edinburgh school term) plus one weekend day each week. The supported young person has complex needs, including Cerebral Palsy. He needs support in all aspects of his life, including personal care. The family are an active family, who love to take trips out walking and exploring nature, to museums, cinema, swimming and other outdoor activities. As well as this they love to travel overseas extensively during school holidays. The successful candidate will be flexible, patient, hardworking, caring, friendly, empathetic and always willing to be helpful. They must be passionate about helping others and strive to ensure that the supported person can reach his full potential and live his best life. They must have a great attention to detail. Holidaying abroad with the family to support the young person is essential. A driver is preferred and the family can supply a car. There is free parking at the family home.
