Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to residents in a residential care setting. The successful candidate will work closely with other care professionals to ensure the well-being, comfort, and dignity of residents while fostering a positive, safe, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Provide support with mobility, including the use of mobility aids, transfers, and positioning. Administer prescribed medication in accordance with company policies and guidelines. Resident Support: Provide emotional and social support to residents, promoting their dignity, independence, and well-being. Encourage and assist residents in participating in recreational activities and social events. Foster a warm and friendly environment that supports residents' mental and emotional health. Health & Safety: Monitor residents' physical and emotional health and report any concerns to senior staff or medical professionals. Ensure that all care records are accurately maintained and up-to-date, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Adhere to health and safety protocols, infection control measures, and safeguarding procedures. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other care staff, nursing teams, and managers to ensure a high standard of care. Participate in regular training and development sessions to improve care delivery. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe living environment for residents. Administrative Duties: Assist with the completion of care plans and other documentation as required. Maintain accurate records of residents' activities, meals, and health changes. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Prior experience in a residential care setting is preferred but not essential. Experience of working with elderly individuals or those with special needs or disabilities is an advantage. Qualifications: A recognised qualification in care (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care) is desirable but not required. Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities. Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A genuine passion for helping others and providing high-quality care. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude. Other Requirements: Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Desirable Attributes: A positive, friendly attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with residents. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
