As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals who require assistance with their daily living activities. Your responsibilities include assisting residents with personal care, promoting their well-being, supporting during mealtimes and ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you care for. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating, while respecting their dignity and preferences. Mobility Support: Provide support with transferring, walking, and mobility aids, as needed, to ensure safety and independence. Meal Service: Serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences. Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, provide emotional support, and encourage social interaction to combat loneliness and isolation. Housekeeping: Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to maintain a clean and safe environment. Make and change beds, mattresses and bed linen. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, changes in the resident's condition, and other relevant information. Ensure the safety of residents by identifying and mitigating potential hazards and following established safety protocols. Regularly communicate with healthcare professionals, residents' families, and care team leaders to provide updates on the resident's well-being. Report to your Line Manager any changes or deterioration you observe in the health and general condition of residents, any personal or emotional problems that you become aware of and any matter which has or could potentially have a bearing on the overall well-being of the residents. Attend team meetings and training sessions as required for the better performance of your duties. Activities and Engagement: Having a ‘one team approach’ to activities and lifestyle whereby all team members from all departments get involved in delivering activities is what sets Boutique Care Homes apart from other providers. Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Compassion, empathy, and a strong desire to help others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and the ability assist residents as required. Patience, reliability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Understanding of and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality. Basic knowledge of healthcare procedures and safety protocols. Flexible in approach. A team player.
