We are keen to build a team to cover the hours throughout the week, so you would be expected to cover holidays. Start times are flexible to take into account bus timetables, but we are looking for around 8 am and 6:30 pm start times each day.
The successful candidate will be reliable and have a positive approach to work. Experience of using a hoist and familiarity with one-person hoisting is desirable, but training will be given.
Ideally, you will have worked as a Personal Assistant before and be comfortable assisting in all aspects of the job, including personal care.
It may be necessary to remove/replace the stoma pouch and clean around the stoma, as well as change and empty the catheter. Training will be provided if required.
The candidate should be comfortable with light domestic duties such as ironing, hoovering, and emptying the dishwasher or tumble dryer.
We have a large Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) which enables outings. If you have a clean UK driving licence and are over 25, it will be possible to include you on the insurance. This would allow for outings such as going for a cuppa, visiting shops/garden centres, or taking the dog for a walk.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, with the cost covered by the employer. Funding is through the council and by Direct Payments. Extra hours will be available to cover holidays.
