Care Assistant for a teenage boy P/T @ £13.09/hr in Ashington - FTE - £25.5k - Ashington - NE63 To provide support for 3 hours per week. To provide support to a 15-year-old young man to enable him to access the community and take part in leisure activities. We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support for a 15-year-old young man who has a diagnosis of ADHD, ADD, and a learning disability. The purpose of your role will be to enable him to socialise, take part in different activities, and to have time away from his family to give them a break from their caring role. You will mostly support out in the community. He is a friendly, happy young man who loves people, enjoys talking, and being sociable. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and proactive in their work. You will support him with going to the shops, eating at McDonald's, going to the cinema, and visiting arcades. You will support him to take part in activities of his choosing. Each day will be different depending on what he wants to do, so you should be prepared to be flexible. We would also like our support worker to suggest things to do out in the community, so you should be willing to be proactive in finding various activities to take part in. We prefer you to be a car driver with your own transport; however, this isn’t essential as public transport can be used. Expenses will be met by your employer. Hours:

3 hours per week during school holidays, 5 hours per week during term time. Hours will be discussed further at the interview. MAIN DUTIES

Support with enabling independence and to give parent a break from the caring role. Assist with taking part in activities and pursuing hobbies and interests. Ensure safety when out and about. Rate of pay:

£13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata. Person Specification

Successful applicants must: Ideally have experience working as a support worker with children or adults. Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities. Have a genuine interest in working within social care. Have a high degree of initiative. Be punctual and reliable. Be flexible. Have a happy, positive, and caring nature. Respect confidentiality. Be a car driver preferable and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by the employer. Rate of Pay:
