Care Assistant for a teenage boy P/T @ £13.09/hr in Berwick-upon-Tweed - FTE - £25.5k - BERWICK-UPON-TWEED - TD15
MAIN DUTIES
We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this young person to access social and leisure activities in the local community. He has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, and a learning disability. The young person can experience anxiety, which can impact upon his presentation. He also has a very limited understanding of danger awareness.
Hours
6 hours per day x 2 days a week during all school holiday weeks.
Rate of pay
£13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata.
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer, e.g. mileage to and from home and activities, and cost of activities when agreed in advance with the employer. ILG PA Employee Assistance Programme will be purchased by your employer after you have completed 6 weeks of employment.
Person Specification
Have experience and a positive understanding of working with children and young people who have disabilities. Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with complex needs. Be able to respond positively, confidently, and sensitively to any changes in behaviour. Have a high degree of initiative. Be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised. Be flexible. Have a happy, positive, and caring nature. Respect confidentiality.
Car driver preferred and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by employer.
