Care Assistant for a teenager P/T @ £13.09/hr in Ashington - FTE - £25.5k - Ashington - NE63
To provide support for a 14-year-old young male with Cerebral Palsy with Bilateral Spasticity and Dystonia; he also has ADHD and learning disabilities.
Main Duties
We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker for this young person to enable him to access leisure activities in the community. He enjoys going swimming, Arcade Warehouse, the cinema, going for coffee, visiting McDonald’s at Moor Farm and looking around the shops in the Metro Centre. He also likes to go and look at the boats in Blyth and the docking station at Royal Quays as well as going for drives to visit different places. He would also love to go on short train journeys too. You will need to administer medication for this role, however there is no personal care required.
Hours
4 hours per week during term time weeks on Saturday’s and then 8 hours per week during all school holiday weeks, which can take place on any day as family are flexible.
Rate of pay
£13.09 per hour. Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer. ILG PA Employee Assistance Programme – this will be purchased by your employer after you have completed 6 weeks of employment.

Have a positive understanding and genuine interest in supporting young people with complex needs within their communities. Be able to respond positively and sensitively to any changes in behaviour. Have a high degree of initiative. Be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised. Have a happy, positive and caring nature. Respect confidentiality.
