Care Assistant for a young boy P/T @ £13.09/hr in Morpeth - FTE - £25.5k

To provide support for a 10-year-old boy who has a diagnosis of Extreme Short Bowel Syndrome and requires Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), which is intravenous nutritional feeding.
MAIN DUTIES We are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this child to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. He enjoys being outdoors but can tire quickly from physical activity and if overexerted may vomit and require immediate support. He enjoys doing crafts at home as well as playing board games and playing with his action figures. The successful applicant would need to be calm in stressful situations and will also be required to provide personal care.
Full training will be provided for the Intravenous Nutritional Feeding (TPN).
Hours 4 hours per week. Some flexibility around when this support takes place.
Rate of pay:
£13.09 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer. Benefits:

Person Specification The successful applicant must: Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs Have a high degree of initiative Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised Be flexible Have a happy, positive and caring nature Respect confidentiality Full, clean driving licence required and must be insured for business use
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
